Out of phase

Now that I know there is a standard of mics having + and - in a
specified way, why do I have a pair of new mics out of phase seeing
from my ( mostly modyfied ) other mics. How do I decide wich ones are to the standard?
I can solder but wich ones...

Most manufacturers try to ensure that positive pressure on the diaphragm = positive voltage on pin 2. Every Shure I've ever tested is that way, for example. So go with the big boys, and make the others match them.

If they are group buy mics, check the silk screening. Mine are actually in phase, but one of the bodies is silk screened 180 degrees wrong making me THINK it was out of phase, but not. Recording a fingersnap in fig8 on both sides will show you which is +. It will be the "rising" waveform in your DAW.

Not from gb but chinese. I´m nowadays paranoid so I doubt my Oktava
and esp. my M7 capsule mic, but they are in phase between them.
Why these strange new Alctron mics would be different...

Track 1 is my M7 mic set to 8 and track 2 is the new generic mic set to 8
Why? I have 2 of them and both are like this. Well I have a measuring mic
wich is also out of phase acording to this...
This is a cigarette lighter sound

Audio 1 is "in" phase. Audio 2 is "out" of phase.

Not necessarily, you need to be careful about that. Some sounds do start with rarefaction (negative pressure). I am not saying that is what happens with a cigarette lighter (I don't have one here to test), but it could. Hence, always test against a known good polarity microphone, or a known good polarity signal generator (with a sawtooth wave, or something similarly asymetrical).

That said, given the mics in question, I would suspect Audio 2 is reverse polarity as well. And there are popular brands of measurement mics that are reverse polarity. It's a crazy world out there!

Yes, thanks for the assurance.
This means that even I can make a mic wich is in phase to the standard but
somehow chinese make mics that are maybe intended for Australian markets

I tryed to scrub and listen and it might be the circled curves are the impact or what´s the word...
