Looking for a mixer for a Tascam 38?

I got a mixer. A tascam M 520 for $150. It is missing the power cable though. Other than building my own anyone have a solution?

Congrats on the M520!

Nice mixer and should do everything you need it to do!

About the missing power cord, are you talking about the multi-pin umbilical cable that goes between the rack mount PS-520 power supply unit and the mixer? Or just the 120 Volt AC cable from the power supply unit to the wall?

Cheers! :)

Multi pin Umbilical cable. I'me probably just going to open it up and wire my own 10 foot cable. Also one of the panning pots is broken, any idea's one where to get a replacement?

I see you already started another thread about the cable.

Sweetbeats, who's already responded in that other thread is probably one of the best sources of technical information as he's done a very detailed thread on how he refurbished his. So it's probably best to politely ask for his further assistance on any technical issues with your M-520.

Your plan to make a permanent 10ft. cable could be a viable solution if the connector parts are no longer available but keep in mind for transporting the mixer anywhere, having the two units permanently attached to each other is going to be a royal pain in the ass. You might want to consider finding an alternate multi-pin connector to put in the middle of that homemade cable so that transporting them will be less of a headache.

The broken pot can be purchased from TEAC's parts department as it's a pretty common item. If they're sold out, another good parts supplier is called Mouser. Sweetbeats can help you out with their contact info.

Cheers! :)
