I did it!!

Learning, always learning
Ok, so it's not an earth changing event, but I finally assembled the DB15 cable I needed to connect my TSR-8 to my MTS-1000.:D

I decided to bite the bullet and see if I could manage soldering the connectors. After buying a pencil style soldering iron and something to hold the tiny damn things while I soldered, I got it! I actually started off using a 25 connector cable. After getting about 4 or 5 leads into it, I decided to scrap it and use Cat 5 cable instead. Much easier to work with solid vs. stranded!

Anyhow, it works! Now the next step is figuring out how to get it all working with Reaper...

It's rewarding whether it's a small fix or a restoration job.

Very true. I realized just why I blew up my capstan motor in my RT-909.:o I think the soldering iron I was using was about the size of a Big Chief pencil... Live and learn I suppose.

It's just awesome to be able to remotely arm and control my deck from another location!:p Now, to read the book, err, manual that came with the MTS-1000.
