I have 4 now but I'm adding 2 more shortly.

I have:

Martin 6 string
Seagull 6 string
Ovation 12 string
Ibenez electric

Adding:

Classical (nylon strings - had one and gave it away)
Bass

Hmmm If you get married and have kids....Maybe it should be "had" I"m down to one now, although really its the one I love to play constantly. Lost a HM Strat, Guild S-250, KnightSwan, RG320. Down to just a Ibanez S-470. Can only play one at a time, a 7-string would be nice though.

Just wondering about this

Between my wife and I, we have 10.

I have 2 Takamines, a Strat-looking crate, a Yamaha bass, and a Telecaster.

She has 2 Martins, a Bullet Strat, an Ibanez, and a Yamaha bass.

Running Dog Mini-Jumbo - my handmade baby!
Yamaha FG-331 acoustic, semi-retired after 15 years of hard playing
Hohner HF75 acoustic, set up as a lap steel acoustic
Gibson Blueshawk electric w/Dimarzio Virtual P90 pickups
Artisan lap steel w/Gold Lace Sensor pickup

I play all of them at least weekly. I don't own guitars I don't play. If one falls out of favor, it gets sold. The Running Dog gets more play than the others all put together, but it's an heirloom-quality instrument. The Blueshawk and lap steel see a lot of play due to band needs. I'll probably get a better lap steel soon.

Well guess I've slimmed down:

Wow! This thread is so old, it's actually on Medicare! Well every couple of years I have to update. I don't really get new guitars, I just refine the collection to fill the holes of the standard guitar types. I'm currently pared down to just what I (and the studio) need:

Taylor 710CE with Fishman blender (my bread and butter)

1980 Epiphone PR725-S (expendable camping axe, and an old friend)

Epiphone Les Paul Custom w/ classic 57 humbuckers (shockingly good for what it is- but gets no respect 'cause it doesn't say "Gibson" on it.) Vintage unknown, but definitely built by Samick in Korea.

2004 Epiphone Casino- also by Samick

2004 Highway One Fender Telecaster

2006 Jimmie Vaughn signature Tex-Mex Fender Stratocaster

Epiphone Selena signature C70CE cutaway classical- has to be 90's vintage

Ventura Bruno Classical- vintage unknown. I'm guessing 70's. Picked it up in a flea market for $50 with no saddle. Sound is not so hot but the neck is good. I do some medieval /early music gigs and needed a nylon string with traditional styling.

Squier P-bass- What the hell? I don't deserve a good one, just something to mess around with and for tweaking the studio's bass rig.

I have to say that after all these years, I'm humbled by the collections of old Martin's some people on this board have.-Richie
