And then comes the Wake afterwards. Much hilarity, drinking and reminiscing if past experience is anything to go by :)
I'll probably be toasting him as well. ;)

Although you have to be very suspicious about a man who would let YOU marry his daughter. :p

And its Friday!!!!!!

Enjoy! :)

Hey boys....
As you may or may not of heard Jamfest 7 has been canceled but it's spirit may live on in the form of KYfest.
My wife wasn't going to go to Connecticut again but is open to taking the whole family on a road trip to see everything between here and there with a visit at KYfest.Money is tight at our home and a vacation was not in the plans for this year so the wife and I will need to discuss things before I can commit.

Today
My eldest brother is coming over to trim my trees and check out some aluminum trim that needs to be repaired. He does garage doors too.I guess it pays to be diversified.
Every time I see my younger brother(the alcoholic)he is getting better, unfortunately my other brother seems to be going off the deep end and headed for a trainwreck. He has always been bad news and if it wasn't for the fact that he's my brother I would have nothing to do with him.

It's funny how four kids can all grow up in the same house and each one can take a completely different path in life.

The weather....

Has been in a pattern of being hot and muggy during the week and sucky on the weekend.I'm looking at two days of cool and rainy, good thing I cut the grass yesterday.

Baseball
It helps to be in a crappy division.

Seems to me that growing up in the acidrock household meant you were destined to either hang garage doors, or become an alcoholic.

This, of course, is better than the dachay household, where we didn't have the garage door option. :( :o :D

It wasn't a Norman Rockwell situation,I can tell you that.

The trees are trimmed
But while my brother used a chainsaw I only got to use the wimpy hand saw. :( I guess he was afraid I'd cut the whole tree down.

Today
The wife wants to take the kids to see Shrek 3,I'm going to try and weasel out of this one. While the first two were good,I can wait till my family inevitably buys the DVD.

When you get to the movies, buy a ticket for Knocked Up. Then tell them you're going for popcorn. Go see Knocked Up and then after the movie, tell them you got lost. :)

One track mind
I recorded a Fathers day song,it's kind of wimpy. :o It's also only one track,it really streamlines the whole editing/mixing process if you know what I mean. :rolleyes:This'll give you an idea of what I sound like live.

It's called "Little hands".

I'll check it out next time I'm down in the studio.

Yanks took 2 of 3 from Boston. :D Last time they did that, they promptly got swept by the Angels. :(

I/3 of the season gone and a 12 1/2 game deficit with the wild card not a real possibility at the moment,I don't think this is the Yankees year.Clemens aint that good.
The Brewers are hosting the Cubs, which means no one in Illinois will get a blow job for a few days because all those cocksuckers will be up here.

The weather
It poured off an on today, sometimes so hard that cars were pulling over on the expressway. If it's a Monday I don't care.

I'm most comfortable playing solo with guitar and harmonica,so I decided to try to record myself "live".I still have to work out some kinks(obviously :o )and I'm working with one mic.I tried two,but can't seem to find the right combination.

I'm away at present and only just surfacing after the weekend so I'll d/l the track when I get back home later in the week.

Well, my Father-in-law had his send off last Saturday and I have to say boyz, it was probably one of the best weekends of my life

The service was moving, sad, funny and thoughtful; we all participated in it and the socialising afterwards was great.

We got home at around 6.00pm; our daughters, their boyfriends and my Mom and Dad. So we broke open the wine and beer, sat outside in the warm sunshine until it went dark and wifey and my Mom produced plates of excellent food. We had a good laugh and it was just a wonderful evening.

On Sunday, we sat outside in the sunshine the whole day, talking, drinking, eating, playing music, reading the Sunday papers. Fabulous, a real family weekend. :)

He would have been very proud and happy with it all. :) He loved his family. ;)

Rant of the Day
People who simply forward your e-mails on to other people.

You know the ones. You send them a joke, or a picture, or a video, and rather than detach the file and create a new e-mail, they just hit the forward button and send it to 20 of their friends.

What's worse, I've had people who received the forwarded e-mail, and then replied to ME!! "Hey, I can't open the attachment." or "Who are you?"

Who am I?? WTF are you??

Plus, 20 people who I don't know from Adam now have my e-mail address.

Some people just shouldn't be allowed to operate computers.

/rant over

I always love being forwarded a joke, that I sent out, and I'm still listed on the list as one who has sent it out....

RE:RANT
I have just started deleting anything that isn't adressed solely to me.I had a friends wife send an invitation to a graduation party and next thing you know I'm getting emails from all of her relatives.

Another bitch, getting sent attachments that open up as only text?I guess copy/paste is harder than forward?

I had a feeling that's how it would go.When a person leads a long full life you celebrate it!

Did I mention that the guy who forwarded my e-mail is the same guy who when you send him a 5 mb video file, he replies with "pretty funny," but doesn't delete the file, so he manages to send you BACK the entire 5 mb.

I have DSL, but still... c'mon.

Isn't there some kind of netiquette class for these guys??

Mike, working for a large Global organisation as I do, I am pretty amazed at the restrained and savvy netiquette here. And if people do goof up, they only do it because of a simple error.

But out on civvy street, people have just a modicum of IT savvy and so they just don't understand what they are doing. My wife and her family, for example. Enough nous to compose and send an email, and just enough to screw your bandwidth too. :o :(

I met a guy when I was on vacation a few weeks back (my vacations are only ever a few weeks back ;) ) who said that he considers it a great aspect of his life that he retired recently without having ever to touch a computer. And yet a 76 year old guy on the same trip said that it was the greatest thing he ever discovered after retiring :) Go figure

Computers are the centre of my life; at work, at home for my Photography, my love of gardening and plants, my music, my friends and family, purchasing decisions and research, my studies, family history research, finances, news etc.

I just cannot imagine my life without the computer.
