damn it! you've convinced me now, I have problems with peaks even on a 32 gig, i7 2600K machine which is just ridiculous, but only real time peaks, as a result I've had to keep latency buffer sizes larger than I'd ideally like, does ASIO guard 2 improve this?

I've got an intel hex core. I can't say i noticed any improvement in performance with Cubase 8 Pro, but it didn't get worse either. I've got a lot of room to play, so Its not an issue.
I do like the interface better , and a few of the toys , so it was worth the $99.
