Guitar Cab Impulse Files
I have gotten into making Guitar Cab Impulse Convolution files lately. I thought I'd make them available.
Here's the link: Keiffer Guitar Impulse Files
My Impulse files are Stereo
I have several cabs and speakers that I have recorded including V30, Greaanbacks, Govenor, Man-O-War and GS1275 speakers. Cabs include V4 4x12, Cobra 4x12, Mesa 2x12 and Splawn 4x12.
You'll need a convolution reverb plugin to use them something like Voxengo's Pristine Space. I use AFImpulse.
Hopefully you'll find one or two of use.
Cheers!

there's 60 separate Impulse Samples with most having four different Deconvolving Options (a,b,c,d) thus producing over 200 Impulse files.
refer to the included text file for info. here's the file FYI...

Thanks! Always on the lookout for impulse files.
You should donate them over to the main impulse file bank over at noisevault.com too.....

awesome stuff man. props to you for putting in the time and effort.
how exactly do you create these files? i'm familiar with convolution reverbs and how they use impulses, but never quite understood (or been bothered!) to read up on how an impulse is created.
wanna share some light?

I use a program by Vogengo call Deconvolver. Deconvolver outputs a sine wave ramp that you send to an amp that's driving the mic'd cab. I send this signal to the power section of one of my amps, bypassing the preamp section. The Sine wave ramp is recorded by your mic of choice. Using the recorded sine wave (trim leading and trailing excess by hand), I now use Deconvolver to create the file that is loaded into a convolution reverb plugin.

If I had any idea what a impulse file is, I'd leave a comment.

these files can be used as substitutes for a mic'd cab for a recorded signal that would have been sent to the cab. You can take a line out, or some other signal say a GT2 output or POD out (cab emulation off) and use these files to alter the tone similar to a guitar-mic setup.

Cool stuff. I'll have to grab a few and try them. I have a couple from noisevault already. Thanks for the effort.

I've used the SIR1010 reverb and really come to appreciate the whole impulse thing. How would you use this with the SIR1010? All I have ever done with it is reverb....

Can you recommend a tutorial site where one can learn about impulse files, what they are and how they can be used?
