When mixing down vocals, drums, bass and guitar, are there any tricks to use to get good separation in the final mix? I'll be using a Tascam 1/2" reel to reel. The tracks will be....trk 1-vocal, trk2-vocal, trk3-bass guitar, trk4-guitar, trk5-overheads, trk6-toms, trk7-kick, trk8-snare.

I need a new loom for my reel to reel. Are there any phono-to-jack looms worth considering, or do they all sound the same?

I am after some advice on buying an eight channel mixer fir playback in the rehearsal room. Something small and cheap would be ideal . Do those Line Mixers do the job that I need?

Does anyone know how to record four tracks at once on a Yamaha MT3X? I did try and set the buttons to “tape”, panned track 1 to the left, track 2 to the right, track 3 to the left and track four to the right. But on playback the sounds were mixed with each other.
