Just asking what people here think about the low end home studio Protools systems... the Digi 001 for example. It seems like a pretty sweet deal (I've been having major issues getting everything to work together with cakewalk and soundblaster cards etcetc)... Whats your opinion? LWH

My question is how does a real keyboardist/synthhead/sound guru listen to each patch to determine its quality? I have read some reviews at harmony-central saying that the piano sound is crap, the organ sounds are cool and generally its a spunky unit... But specifically, what do you listen for...

I've looked a fair bit for some solid quality cymbal (crash, ride etc) and tom samples, but I can't find anything that beats the woeful XG midi drums that came with Cakewalk. Bass drum, snare and hihats are easy to acquire, since the dance crowd loves em. I really need some decent quality...

I want a reverb mainly for live guitar, which is MIDI channel assignable, and a rack unit (because I have a Triaxis setup); and maybe use for a bit for some recording (mixer FX loop?). Is the MidiVerb gunna cut it? It really only needs to be 3/4's decent, because I can't afford a major kickass...

I think if I could work out how to take the sounds out of the Ddrum midi samples at their site, I would be set forever as far as drum samples go. What I want to know is, how can I access the midi file without having the Ddrum module? I'm sure its pretty simple, but I can't open the drum samples...

Hey everyone. My first post here :) How do you make programs like Drum Station, Hammerhead and Fruity Loops (to name a few) to record to Cakewalk? I really have no idea how to do it... I have no real experience with the drum machine programs, so I don't know the secrets to doing all this yet...
