I was wondering if there is an optimal or preferred way to amplify an acoustic electric guitar in a live situation. For practice I just plug directly into the board. Would using a DI box make any difference, especially live, or using an amp made specifically for an acoustic?

So I have read up some on re-amping and I'm wondering if a re-amp box is necessary when using the US1800. Could the balanced line outs on the back of the 1800 be used instead of a re-amp box? Maybe those aren't line level? Just wondering if re-amping could be done without buying more gear.

I just drilled to widen the holes on my guitar to fit new inserts for a tremolo but actually went through the body into the rear cavity! I was trying to make it deep enough for the insert. Any suggestions? Or am I screwed?
