Hi! I think I know what you mean. I suggest you first try to get your mic/s combined with the room and your compressor to sound as good as you can before you record it. Also in mixing i think workin with a good compressor often gives good results.

Pan and stereo-delays might get you where I beleive you´re going. Also the duoubling vocals dosnt have to bee high in volume, just beeing there in the background is often enough.

I suggest you experiment a lot with compressors.

well, guess it depends on what sort of pre amp you´ve got. For instance on mine you can choose wether its mic or line, ( u can use guitars and so on.) Ive never tried plugging in a keyboard so i dont really know the outcome. But I think it can make difference...I suggest you try and see what...

Yea I go with dachay2tnr. Use the compressor. Now about cool edit...if it can do the job?, i dont know, I suppose it depends on what plug ins you got. But probably youll have the same plug ins in both of the programs so it wont matter that much.
