i saw this controller on digidesigns website called the command 8. for around $1200 it works with the 002 rack. does anyone know of any third-party mixers that work with the 002?
and does anyone have any ideas and any mixers that can create seperate mixs for headphone monitoring and work as an...
ok, i have a mac g4 laptop, and a PC desktop (as well as an amd64 laptop, but that one isn't too important to me for music). If I get a DIGI 002 will i be able to authorize the software on both computers, and move the hardware between so sessions can be shared? Basically does DIGI allow...
i've got a small laptop, and i'm looking for a small soundcard/mic pre to go with it. it's a mac, and i run logic, which probably doesn't make much of a difference nowdays. i don't need a lot of inputs 2 would be enough. i just want something relativly cheap, small, and decent sound quality...
i think most of my guitar tracks sound ok, but they all seem to be lacking a little bass. the mids and highs sound good and not overpowering, but there is almost no low end.
i usually use any combination of NTK, sm 57, or NT5s. i use small body taylors, and a martin d-18 mostly. any tips?
what do you guys think about the sound quality between the 002 and 828 II? i've always used the 001, and i have a laptop, and i'm thinking about getting a firewire interface to use with it. i've used cubase SX a lot, so i was thinking about using it with the 828 MK II.
i usually throw a transparent gate on the vocals. i think that would work for you . . . it will preserve the volume and the quality of the loud enough parts, while making the parts when you're not singing silent.
it usually makes the song sound like it was recorded for bon jovi in the mid 80's. a very dated technique that can sound really cool in certain circumstances. don't rule it out, don't do it too often (maybe twice in a lifetime)!
i'm doing really well, and i'm glad someone finally asked.
i'm leaving for the army on 8/25! i'm super excited because i'm gonna be doing intelligence work and other cool stuff - since i have a college degree i'm not getting as jerked around as other people.
but the bad news is i'm not sure...
Re: Re: GC
yeah, and they're probably not going to buy the amp or guitar anyway, so why not stop for the sake of those of us who are making a purchase.
because that's not cool, and nobody remembers the nice guy except for the guy who got the guitar. but everyone remembers a great show-which may include a little smashing. someone earlier called it cheap parlor trick . . . sure, but it works!
aside from that, personal property is personal...
i have an octava 319 and a sm57 and i've used them as an x-y pair. i know it sounds weird, but it really did sound good. i'll bet you could get both for $150.
vocal reverb is scarry.
it sounds like a really bad cathedral plug-in. i'll go with the majority consensuse on this one.
i also don't like the doubled and/or delayed second guitar. that may be personal taste, but i feel like this is a simple song and the mix should be very simple as well.
if money is a big issue you can go with the delta 2496 - got 4 inputs - or the m-audio delta 410 - 2 analog inputs so you'd have to dump 2 tracks at a time, and some freebie recording software (like protools free-others can suggest more free software). with either option you're set for under...
i go to the GC in Brea Ca, and the guys are super cool. you just gotta build a little repore with a salesman and know what you want when you go in. i've had them suggest stuff i really liked, they knock off the price without me asking, i bring in low prices off the internet and they drop it...
Amen.
if i want to smash my guitar what do you care? it's not hurting you.
one bit of advice for all you would be guitar smashers . . . hold the guitar by the neck with the fret board perpendicular to the floor - if you hold it parallel to the floor, the neck will snap off and it'll be a...
i was one of those kids until about a year ago. i had a fender M80 SS head and i thought it sounded good until i played my first real tube amps. i was gonna go drop some money on one of the fender modeling amps, and right next to it was a real twin, so i tried it out...long story short, i...
sometimes i record acoustic guitars in stereo with more bass in one mic than in the other. then when i pan them L and R the frequencies are seperated, and the sound is cool. other times i record with two mics just to have two options when it comes time to mix. i guess that's not really...
if you already got PT free or LE whatever...just drop a few bucks on a a decent sound card. the delta 410 for $110 would do fine. then you'll have the option to listen (i.e. monitoring) to the mix at any time, you can listen while you record the vocals. all you'll need is the mic-->a pre...
