Voiceover advice needed - Shure MV7 vs. SM7B for Windows PC

I agree with Ujn. People tend to say stupid thing when it comes to audio equipment. Of course, the SM7b is a great mic, but it is not the only choice. If you can and want to buy that Shure SM7b, a Cloudlifter (which is probably going to be needed because I've heard that the mic has a really low...

    Post Your Analog Recordings Here...

Thanks for your considerations, SR! Unfortunately, I dont have any outboard compressor, and I wanted to try to avoid any digital processing, just for fun, so, in that case I could have just turned the vocals up a bit. The guitar was recorded using a Shure SM57 just below the camera view...

    Post Your Analog Recordings Here...

Hi guys, its been a while since I last posted something here. I've been recording some basic live performances and posting on Youtube. Its been roughly a year since I could get me a TASCAM 414 and all of the latest posts I uploaded there have been recorded using it. This particular one have...

Analog Recording and Mixing (Divine Hammer - The Breeders)

Hey guys. It's been months since I last posted something here. I recently gotten a TASCAM 414, fully functional thankfully, and I started learning how to record on tape, which is painful, but so fun. I am still learning a bunch of stuff, but I decided to try an perform a version of Divine...

Green day cover - Good Riddance (its been a while since I last posted)

Hey guys, hope you're all doing fine. Its been a while, maybe a few months since I last posted, so Im planning on recording more stuff in the coming months...lets see. I recorded this Green Day cover with one mic, and found that recording vocals + acoustic guitar its not actually as easy as it...

    Rock song: Cave Paintings

I kinda like the instruments, but the vocals sounds too electronic to me hahaha. But the mix in general sounds good. I just think the song has too much going on at the same time. I guess is more of a production thing.

    Helter Skelter (The Beatles Cover)

You version is definately unique, that I like about it. But the drums IMO sounds really weird man...I dont know. The playing is not that great. The performance is too loose to my taste. I like stuff that does not sound perfectly on time and even pitchy sometimes. But its too loose...this drum...

    Using limiters on Mix busses?!

It doesnt sound that bad at all. Yes the drums sounds a little bit squashed...but nothing too bad. I'm still not clear on what you are talking about, but cant you just dial the threshold of the compressor down??? I think it will already do the job.

    Rode NT2A - Vocals + Guitar (Omnidirectional)

I chose Omni because this is the first mic I got that has this polar pattern. I tried experimenting a little bit, you know?

    Rode NT2A - Vocals + Guitar (Omnidirectional)

Hi guys. Can u give me some feedback on this tune I recorded? I used a Rode NT2A with the Omni setting. Here's what I did. I placed it really close to me and put the guitar amp about a meter away. The result is here: I wonder what u guys think about it. Some parts the guitar sounds louder...

I'm looking for a good starter vocal mic for under $300 USD - is it possible?

I know you had a lot of answers already, but I'm just going to throw some advice here. The Rode NTA2a is a really good balanced mic. I just got one used. I really love it. Sorry if someone already recommended this one before!

    Using limiters on Mix busses?!

From what I could understand, this to me sounds like a problem in the recording phase of the process. What I mean is, you have to be really conscious with the sounds you are trying to acquire firstly from the recording process, you know? That being said, there is nothing wrong with really...

Back in the game after 8 years...

Yeah, the guitar is a little out of tune, but not dramatically though. The only thing that sounded weird to me is the "fuzzy" guitar. It has too much high mids I think, I dont know....thats my opinion. But the track sounds promissing. It reminded me a little bit of a Garbage tune, you know?

    The wages of fear

This second mix sounds really good man. Congrats on that. It sounded like a Tom Petty song to me. The guitars sounds really cool and bright. The mix sounds clear!

Advice for newbie on best interface

Dude I had a Focusrite 18i20 and I "downgraded" to a Behringer UMC204HD. Not only do I prefer the fact that the UMC204HD is USB powered, but also it sounds better to me, at least, than the Focusrite. So I'd recommend the UMC204HD from behringer or the 404HD like Papanate said.

Fender Blues Jr. SE - Fender Stratocaster

Hi guys! I just uploaded a video in which I tested 3 presets of the Fender Blues Jr. SE amp. I plugged my mex strat in it. If you guys could help me out, I'm trying to make these types of content. I wonder what you guys think of the guitar sound in this video. I'm sorry, I hope this is not...

    Outside

It definately is an interesting track you've got. It could be polished, as Talisman said. But the song is kind of cool and I dont mind the repetitve drums, at least not for now, hahaha.
