Are there any books or articles related to "fake" drums? I want to know more about it. It looks like it's not that effective for me to mess around with different filters. I would like to know what has been done by others.

I have recently bought a audio interface. My Samson C03u becomes useless now due to high latency. Currently, I have two options Buy a Samson C01, since I only use the cardioid. Upgrade to a better XLR mic with $300. Any suggestions for mic? Mainly for vocal purpose.

After using DAW for a while, I start to pay attention to the panning when I listen to a song. What I observed is that the hi-hat always panned to the right and the vocal never panned. I wonder if there are examples that the main vocal being panned.

It seems in you case, SM58(~$150) + scarlett solo(~$100) would be the best choice. Since you are only recording yourself, no need to go for Scarlett 2i2 which can record 2 mics at the same time.
