I went through a search a couple of years ago for a mic pre that worked well for me. I ended up buying two HHB Radius 50 Mic Pres and I have had a great time with them. Anyone else using these? Likes/dislikes?

Good answer Jason. I agree that there has to be a compromise in the end and the hardest projects are your own. If I can make myself happy I'm ready to take on a project other than my own.

So, could some of the seasoned pro's share a little of their insight on mixing? I don't mean all of your tricks but I have been working and working a mix. An hour here and an hour there. Burn a disc and go try it in different places, listen for a couple days, take notes, go back and adjust, burn...

John, I'm glad we live pretty close. I have a project that I am in the process of "attempting" to mix. How do accept a song to master? 24 bit CD? Send it over the net? I would be very curious to have a song "critiqued" by you to see if it's one of those you reject or approve.

Totally agree L.R.,,,all songs are different and will have different challenges. When it comes to the art of mixing multiple tracks, there are no rules, just options and trial and error.

I do agree with y'all about using the ears not the eyes. I guess I just meant to have a peek and see where there may be holes in the spectrum and making some adjustments from there. I ran some stuff through one and made some changes to the song I am currently working on and I feel I am getting...

In my case, the masterlink is an alternative to using a computer. I guess you could call me old school but I like outboard gear. I know that there is a lot of versatility and power to using computers for audio but I will leave that stuff to the mastering pros. I just need a nice burner to mix to...
