Just wondering, I am nearing completion of my home studio, which consists of a 6X12 control room, 18X12 Live room ,and a 6X7 isolation room. I will be posting pictures soon. Here's the question: If you had it to do over again, what would you add or take away? Thanks in advance.
For the many that asked why I'm using a full stack, and not a smaller (possibly combo) amp:
The guitarist I am recording is meticulous with his tone to say the least  and he will only use a specific head of his and a certain cab to get his 'great tone.' I will definitely suggest removing...
I record a lot of different styles, but most of the things I do have low end reduced to the pint where there is no rumble, but a great deal of bass (to a reasonable extent), but I can see why they aren't used very much, as it would be a whole lot less expensive to just play a mix off of a...
I just picked up some new KRK Rockit 8's, and I was wondering if a subwoofer would be helpful. My control room is basically a 12X7' rectangle that I will soon be acoustically treating (bass traps, panels on the wall opposite of the monitors) to some degree. I was checking out a few subwoofers...
Hello, I just finished building a recording studio in my basement, and I have moved my current one (in my bedroom) down there. I am planning to record a guitarist and drummer simultaneously in a rectangular room approximately 18X12'. In what way should I position the amp (marshall full stack)...

I am running pro tools 9, and I wanted to do a little bit of editing/snapping some regions together. So, I took my first region, and aligned it with the second. Then, to rid the audio of any clicks, I crossfaded the area where the regions met. When I played back the area, there was indeed a...
Ahh, I see now, native plug-ins are stored in your computer, but needs the computer's CPU power to work. TDM plug-ins are stored on a card installed on your computer, so that the plug-ins do not affect the running of the computer. Is that correct?
A few people have been telling me that Native plug-ins are not stored on the computer you're working on, but another piece of hardware. Is this a correct statement, or if not, what is the real difference?
Well, I'm not a noob to recording in general, in fact I've been working on Pro Tools for quite a while... It's just that I've never purchased any plug-ins before, so when I was looking at a few Waves bundles, I saw two different labels: TDM and Native. I noticed that the Native versions are...
I am currently in the process of designing and building a recording studio in my house, and was doing some research on effective, relatively inexpensive, guitar amplifier mics. I am currently using a Sennheiser E609 and I absolutely love it. However, my project requires another mic for another...
