Well, I'm not a noob to recording in general, in fact I've been working on Pro Tools for quite a while... It's just that I've never purchased any plug-ins before, so when I was looking at a few Waves bundles, I saw two different labels: TDM and Native. I noticed that the Native versions are (significantly  ) lower in price than the TDM versions. What is the difference? Is a TDM plug-in contained to your computer, and a Native one stored to a different place? (A few people have been telling me that) Thank you for your time.

Where else do they claim the TDM plugins would be stored?

A few people have been telling me that Native plug-ins are not stored on the computer you're working on, but another piece of hardware. Is this a correct statement, or if not, what is the real difference?

Ahh, I see now, native plug-ins are stored in your computer, but needs the computer's CPU power to work. TDM plug-ins are stored on a card installed on your computer, so that the plug-ins do not affect the running of the computer. Is that correct?

And I am pretty sure you need a TDM card installed first...
