I have version 1.1.3.001, and all the presets on there used to work. Now all of a sudden something's happened, and whenever I try to open Massive and load a preset, it closes the window aswell as my Cubase 5 DAW altogether. I tried it on a different DAW and same result - all my other vst...
My FW card is a Belkin 3-port with TI chipset, apparently the industry standard firewire card. Steen thanks for your help, but I got rid of the splitters and hasn't helped the situation really...
Apparently it isn't compatible with a Soundblaster Audigy card? Just read that on a website...
Hi Steen,
The splitters in the back of the device go directly into the speaker inputs, and the splitters from the front come from a phonic graphic eq unit so I can record in stereo. They're definitely balanced because there is a clear stereo output when the matrix is configured in the right...
I get absolutely no level meter response for DAW 1 & 2 (or anything else for that matter) on the mixer even when I set the Cubase VST outputs to those specific outputs. If I raise the faders, the level meters simply follow it with what looks like a constant signal, and it doesn't move :S even...
Okay here are the screenshots for cubase when it runs full volume in stereo.
So I'm using General Purpose Outputs 1 & 2 in a two-to-one splitter:
Using another splitter for inputs 1 and 2 on the front for guitar (if this helps at all):
The digital mixer, where altering or panning the...
Hi Tetra, thanks for your feedback.
I gave it a shot with the mixer outputs (1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8) and it's still getting really confused. If I set the daw to outputs 1 & 2, and DAW 1 & 2 have been solo'd on the mixer (no matrix involved), no signal comes out...am I supposed to be using...
Mainly with the control panel, I'm simply trying to work out the matrix on this thing...so that I have playback for mic/instrument input 1 + 2 and playback from the daw aswell (at the same level). I use jack splitters so that I can get a stereo signal from two channel outputs into one jack input...
Alesis will most likely give you a world of problems, due to their lack of driver/firmware updates and virtually no customer support. Used to own a FireWire Multimix16 and the pres aren't that great really IMO.
How many preamps/mic inputs did you want? You can get a kickass Presonus Audiobox...
The firewire does multitrack, but it's just all the hardware clashing, lack of firmware updates and lack of support from alesis & forums that has just completely put me off using this mixer. it's turned off atm simply because it causes blue screen errors on my pc. And plus the preamps could be...
Hey guys,
I've been battling with my Alesis Multimix16 FireWire desk and cubase sx3 for some time now, and I want to sell it on, get rid of the problems and find an alternative (one with better & more reputable preamps too).
I've looked at several 16-channel firewire interfaces such as the...
Hi, i just managed to revive my alesis multimix16 firewire after searching 2 months for a replacement adapter. i've put it through cubase again, and while the audio seems to be fine when recording, the track being recorded decides to stop after a minute or so....it's very temperamental...
problem solved! shadow_7 you were right, it was to do with the left and right channels being slightly harmonically imbalanced.
a quick what-to-do for anyone else with the same problem - i exported both left and right channels separately, imported the right channel into har-bal (search in...
i use har-bal religiously when it comes to mixing and mastering - are you saying export a left-channel track, right-channel track and mono and compare the frequency balances of each one?
sounds like it could work...:D
guys thanks for your feedback, it is just a standard ordinary bedroom i'm mixing in, my only remaining question is this - when i move around the speakers the different frequencies are heard, but when i listen to a professional recording this doesn't happen and it sounds properly compressed and...
hello there HR people,
i'm looking for some help with mastering things. i know a fair bit about mixing/mastering already but thought the newbie forum would be best for this situation.
i've been mixing a metal track for about a month and i love the mix to bits - now i'm onto the mastering. the...
Hopefully this specific topic hasn't been done before, I searched for threads on the alesis multimix 16 firewire and checked a couple of pages, but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
Here's the lowdown: I bought the alesis 2nd hand, off ebay, have tried recording with the 2TK phono...
