I'm a bit confused ..I have read a couple of reviews where it says they have got the dp-32 to slave to midi devices...even usng midi clock as well as mtc. And sure enough the word "slave" appears in the menu as an option. Somebody even said they have slaved one dp-32 from another to have two...

Well I did test it with the demo song ...and the output when mastering was really high ...my powered monitors were practically on zero for a fairly quiet volume....if I had them on their normal setting it would probably deafen me....scary for sure.

My brand new dp32 is currently in the hands of ups....yes the one with midi!

I think tascam are assuming you either master with headphones or monitors ...not headphones first and then review straight after with monitors. So if you stayed with monitors throughout then the playback wouldn't be too loud because you have just mastered it on them. I guess tascam assumed...

Slaving dps Out of curiosity ....how readily do dp's slave to other midi gear that wants to be master?

Yep vocal had too much reverb/echo for that style of singing ...and tambourine voice on the drum machine stood out too much as a distraction.

When you say all mono tracks are full...you mean you still have stereo tracks unused?

Tascam dropping midi was a huge mistake ....at least usb midi would be something but to drop it completely is a bad call.
