    Space Between Panel and Wall

Good day all! What's the reason why an acoustic panel should be hung a couple inches off the wall? Does the sound diffuse more with the space in-between? I'm going to do it that way because it's recommended and looks cool, but was curious as to the science behind it. Thank you! Daryl

It's Hard to Tell - if I'm mixing this right...

Good day everyone, After much hemming and hawing, I'll throw this up there. I know it's not that good, but nonetheless, I'm doing this for nothing more than serious fun. I thank this forum for allowing me to lurk and learn as much as I possibly can. I look forward to the critiques, as I...

    Acoustic Treatment vs. Reference Tracks

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, few posts (note number of posts vs. join date!) Anyways, I was thinking... I'm going to start working on putting together an "album", if you will, as my band has been practicing for a year or so and we're looking to start distributing music and booking shows...

Good day all, just some quick musings on my first step (I guess gearwise) into home recording... I've been reading these forums and learning everything I can for some time - all while recording with Reaper and a cheap USB mic/internal sound card. I figured I wanted to put some basic principles...

    Weeks away from my build...

Good day everyone! My name is Daryl, and I've been lurking on this site for awhile, gathering info, half-ass chiming in now and then, learning and listening. I haven't had much to contribute, or for that matter even ask, as my equipment/space was non existent. However, I've been working the...

    Getting "Right-brained"

Hey everyone, just some questions and thoughts on the lyric writing process. While every aspect of writing a song is difficult for me, lyrics are especially tough. I come from a very logical and analytical background in terms of writing, and coming up with original and catchy metaphors and the...

    Quick Introduction...

Good day everyone! My name's D, and I've been lurking around the forum for awhile, listening to all of the tracks and discussions. I'm relatively new to playing instruments and absolutely new to recording them, but it's becoming a fascinating hobby rather quickly. I've always listened to...
