    It is done!

After a total of 4 years, I finished my Law Degree today. I had packed all my recording equipment away 3 years ago so I wouldn't be distracted and now I can unpack it. Phew....! :-)

    Question!

I have recorded a track with a drum machine on a BR1600. When I listen to the drim track it is crystal clear. Yet when I mix down, it is clipped..? I have checked the levels and added compression. On the DAW it is clean... when I put it on disc, it is badly clipped...? Why?

    Desert Phone Call

Umm yeah I recorded it very loud.. that was an accident. This is an electronic piece that is going to be a part of a larger piece. I have not recorded electronic stuff before and I mixed it on my headphones. Any comments? SoundClick artist: Stelvin Cap - page with MP3 music downloads

    Weak voice

Yeah, I am not a singer. I cocked up the phrasing and I do not have a strong voice. But I would appreciate comments on the mix. I did this in the spare bedroom. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=452011 Look for "Hurt = Stelvin". It should be the first song in the pile.

    Mains hum?

I have a Boss GT-3 guitar processor. I take the stereo output of that into my BOSS BR1600 and I get so much hum its not funny..... If I plug my guitar straight into the BR1600 and use the onboard effects there I still get a little hum but not nearly as much . The trouble is, the onboard effects...

    Hobart Paving

This is a cover. My singer recorded herself at her house and sent me her vocals which mixed in. Aside from a couple of bum notes I think she sang well. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=452011 Any comments?

    Experiment

I did this one to practise using my drum machine and also to work on my eq and mixing and compression (which I have never used). It took quite a while but I think I am close. Any comments? It is at www.soundclick.com/stelvincap And is called "No Mail"

    Help!

My singer is only in the country for 2 weeks. Tonight we recorded a song and I can only mix it on headphones. She excelled and I double tracked her voice and had minimal reverb on it as I wanted her vocals to come across very clear. I think it sounds ok, but I only have headphones to mix...
