I disagree. If it wasn't so muffled and there was only one (as opposed to the stacked, overdubbed, panned all over the place, and occasionally out-of-sync thing you've got going on now), I think the vocal would be fine.
This mix doesn't sound very mixed at all, wilko. The guitar is all up in my face in a kind of intrusive way - like I'm being violated by that guitar.
The bass is buried and the vocal mix has issues that I've outlined above.
There's performance issues throughout the recording - offbeat tamborines (early at 27 seconds, late at 35 - it may be something else that's actually offbeat and making the tamborine sound like it's the problem, I suppose), loose/sloppy transitions on guitar, etc. Lots of things that could be tightened up performance-wise. I'd love to hear a remix that addresses some of that
