Hey there. I just bought an Octane pre amp & I'm interested in using the "insert" function to use my outboard compressors for drums & vocals. I've got a few questions for you (when you have time) since I see that you have/had one.

In some of your posts you refer to the Octane's pre's being bypassed when using an insert. Is this correct that the channel volume knob on the front no longer alters the signal?

In my case, with compressors, I still want the Octane's pre's to control my drum mic inputs when going lightpipe into my computer, because the compressors don't have enough power themselves to preamp my signal.

Backstory: My analog board just blew up & I would previously use its inserts while tracking drums & vocals. I was just getting pretty confident in my sound & don't want to change much while converting to totally digital inputs.

Thanks & any input would be helpful.

Just stopping in to say hello and thought I'd bring some sunshine with me..

I'm good, WS. Thanks for sayin hi. My latest project has been giving up my car for commuting, so I've been on the bike forums. Nothing beats HR, though. I just haven't been recording or buying gear lately-- all the cash went to bikes this winter.
Life is good man. Some areas could be better but....meh....life is still good. Besides, I heard they're handin out free crotch kicks here. WOO HOO!

Great, i have always been wondering if i can find a software to play something like rumba rythyms and i play the solos with it. I do very simple multitracking in n-track. Do u know of any software that can play rhythm like that?
Thanks white, i ll see about that and make a decision. What instrument do u play anyway? would love to know coz it seems i may bother you with more questions in the future

I myself only play spanish nylon guitar (and very poorly i play the Lute).

Thanks again for your input, i truly appreciate it.
    Regards,

    RAfi
