lol Dennis...That was stupid of me, I should have mentioned the window is 6 ft. x 4 ft with a small closet behind me. I'm going to see how it works by keeping the console at the window and take John's advice with the treatment on the surrounding walls and ceiling. Thanks again.
Thanks for your help guys. I appreciate it. Outside noise is not a problem since I live on a lake and fairly remote. I've now got a weekend project ahead of me.
Thanks Dennis, I'll check out your recommendations. The money factor is not a great concern. Another question, would there be a benefit of having the curtain window at my side and face a wall covered with the acoustic treatment or would there be little difference?
I'm using a 10' x 9' bedroom as a studio for voiceover production. I record at my desk directly in front of a curtained covered window. It works out not too bad with the exception of a slight echo and hollow sound. I was thinking of placing acoustic treatment on each wall. How do I determine...
I'm searching for an outboard compressor for nothing other than voiceover work. The RNC is highly rated and would be an easy choice except for the fact a gate is necessary. Should I get the RNC and use either a plug in for noise reduction, acquire an external gate or just get something like...
I think you nailed it Slack. I'm using the demo version of n-track, so that's probably the answer. The plug in I was trying to load is PSP Mixpressor which has been tested on the n-track application.
I'm trying to incorporate a VST plug in. I stored it in a separate folder on the hard drive and specified a path to the folder from the application. When I click on DSP a pop up window appears "Error Opening VST Scan File". Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?
I find it to be a very interesting program. It would be nice to actually make a comparison with an acutal mic against its' replication. I do like the program but can't find a price on it anywhere. Emailed the company but haven't received a reply yet.
I'm about to purchase a compressor. It's between FMR's RNC, Behringer Composer MDX 2200; or Behringer Autocom Pro MDX 1400. Any comments or recommendations?
On the Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro, is there a way to make my MIC 1 independant of other outputs. I would like to use MIC 1, input it into say Line 2 of a sound card and use another output from the mixer into another input line on the sound card. Is this feasible?
My search is on for a compressor that will be used solely for voiceover work, no music. Due to this application, the Presonus Blue Max has been recommended. Any thoughts on this unit or other suggestions?
