About 5 years ago, my band and I went to a studio for the first time. We did one song that was kind of layed back and slow, so we had the idea of putting some snaps on time with the snare hits. Instead of recording the snaps, the engineer had a cd of samples and used something to add the snaps...

I like trying different combos all the time, but my favorite is a 14" K top and a 14" Mastersound Bottom. The Mastersound gives the overall sound more of a distinct "chik!" sound that I like.

Look for a used Paiste 2002 I'm pretty sure that's what he used for a while. No smaller than 18". Make sure it's not one of the re-issued ones that they sell now......those are different.
