Hi Everyone,
Hope this finds you all well.
I've been using a Saffire 18i8 (first gen) with a PC for some time and recently switched over to using a Macbook Pro laptop. Double checked everything on my unit and all is functional, still operating properly, and getting music through my DI...
I'm essentially looking to do a few things and unsure as to whether A) Audition is the proper program I should be utilizing and B) How I can figure out how to go about doing it/learning it/
So what I need to do is:
1) Take a handful of clips and combine them into one podcast intro track. So...
Thanks so much for the response. -- I'm using Audition 2015 but I think I may be doing something wrong as I followed your directions and tried clicking on the isolated tracks in the lefthand taskbar once extracted to mono files and each separated L/R track still contains both recordings vs just...
Hi Guys!
So I recorded a podcast to MP3 using Pamela for Skype.. it's sadly only yielded a one track mp3 with two individual signals panned L/R for each recording end. -- I'd like to just edit one of the recordings (my own).. is there any way to isolate just that specific portion of the...
Hi Everyone,
So I'm a bit stuck here..
I've finally gotten my microphone to record via my Focusrite through my computer.. but I'm looking to perform a 2 track recording session of a Skype conversation in Adobe Audition.
My problem is, for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the...
By mixer I just mean the simulated software mixer that came with the install for the Focusrite. --- The mic is literally plugged straight into the AI, and the AI right into the computer.
The Shure is an SM7B so I turned the gain pretty much all the way up to get a decent signal. It is Audition...
Hi Everyone,
So I'm having trouble getting audition to recognize my microphone signal and yielding any recording. I'm using a FocusRite Scarlett 18i8 in conjunction with my PC and a Shure SM7B mic.
I know the mic is working as on my FocusRite generic brand desktop mixer I'm getting a signal...
You're the man Dave. -- Much appreciated. Again the AI is a FocusRite Scarlett... so you're saying the AI just plugs into my tower via USB.. and then with some tweaking essentially anything that comes out of the computer will funnel through the monitors?
This is the turntable. It's newer so I'm...
Ok. -- Gotcha.
I'm not sure if I still have whatever cable would be necessary to connect the preamp groun to the turntable.. is that a specific cable?
Sorry for my ridiculous newbness on this again but just exactly how do recorded tracks of any kind get fed from my computer through the...
Hi Guys,
I just wanted to say thanks for all the help on this. -- Truly appreciated.
One last set of questions:
Is there a chain of command for powering up any of these? Meaning are there any considerations for making sure nothing goes on before something else? Or is that all kind of...
Ok so ditch the Phono Preamp.---> Vinyl straight into BK with RCA. -- Speakers into BK with RCA--Quarter inch cable. -- Interface into the BK with RCA--Quarter inch cable or XLR to Quarter inch cable. -- How does the interface connect to the computer?
Thanks for the help guys.
I'm not looking to record vinyl.. just want it to come out of my monitors while having same monitors hooked up to my recording interface for recording and computer playback... does that make sense?
OK..
So you're saying I'll need RCA to Quarter inch cable. -- Run that from the Phono Preamp to the interface. -- Plug Speakers directly into the front of the interface via XLR?
How does the computer come into play with the recording interface and how would I toggle between the computer audio...
2 follow ups:
If I were to use 4 mics, wouldn't that mean plugging the speakers into the interface would require me to unplug/replug back and forth between the monitors and Mics?
Ashcat: You mean a cable with a different input at each end versus a converter? Meaning for example a cable with an...
