    software synths

    Hi ppl, I've just stumbled into a new world of software samplers, soft-synths, loops and sequencers and can't make heads or tails of any of it, my being a purely GM and multi-tracking guy. Anyone got any pointers to some good tutorials/books etc.? Thanks, R

    Monitoring in mono.

    Hi folks, I need to monitor my mixes in mono to check out phasing probs. I'm running my L/R out using unbalanced cables to my monitors. Can I just put in a switch to temporarily short L & R outputs or do I need something more exotic so as not to fry my card/monitors?....Thanks.

    Should I use my nearfields for everything?
