I keep reading the older models track about as fast. After having been burned by Roland on an S88 keyboard I can't help but wonder if a new GR isn't right around the corner anyway.

I think Cakewalk did a great job with it. Wonder why they didn't include their own compressor and limiter?

The upgrade is pretty good. Now you can use a standard cord and use the effects,amps., ect ( everything but the virtual section). And it's free. Only catch is Roland has to do the install. I got mine back in 10 days from LA. The wah-wahs really burn now.

I'm having it built for me. What have you found works best for Sonar? I've learned much reading this forum and realized pretty quickly it wouldn't be long before my pc was hurting under the strain. I'll stay with XP. I'm not going worry about the cost too much. Thanks for your time.

Are there any books out there on video editing with software programs? I want to check out Sonar's but don't have any background in it. Thanks.

Used search but couldn't find anything on this. I'm hooking up a drum machine to Sonar 2.0. I'm getting mild distortion on bass notes at playback. All the input levels are ok. It's sort of a slightly distorted slap back type echo on the lows. Thanks for any help.

Wasn't sure where to post this. I have a chance to buy one of these at a very tempting price. Is it too much of a dinosaur? It hasn't seen much use. Is pc based video work all that's done now?
