So I'm trying to learn about this stuff and I heard that the color of the actual tape is a telltale sign of how good the recording will sound on it. Is that true? Here's a picture of 6 different tapes...Just by looking at the tape, which one would you say could be the highest quality?

By "regular cassette player", I mean any Walkman or boombox tape player. The models aren't relevant because I've tried listening to the tapes on several tape-playing devices and it keeps playing back in mono, but when I play the same tape in my Porta 03, it plays back in stereo.

This is where I've always been confused...a soundcard is the same thing as a interface? If so, I could buy this Amazon.com: USB 2.0 4-CHANNEL Audio/midi: Electronics and be okay? I only plan on recording with my midi keyboard (which is USB powered). I wish I didn't have such a hard time...

I already updated my ASIO4ALL but when I select it in FL, I don't get any sound, but when I select "Primary Sound Driver" I do get sound.

Just 1...my midi keyboard (which is actually USB powered, just in case you need to know that.)
