Yea, I know. The only reason I'm still at the same place I was at last month is that I was away from my computer the whole time. And while I was away, somebody told me on another forum to check the port speed, which I did and found it to be wrong. But I don't know what all the rest of the...
Ok, i'm finally getting back to this problem. I think the problem is my port settings.
I now have the port set to:
38400 bits per second
Data bits - 8
Parity - None
Stop bits - 1
Flow Control - None.
Is this correct?
I previously had Windows 98 installed, and the CBX drivers worked flawlessly. In case you don't know, the CBX drivers from Yamaha convert the midi signals for output/input thru the serial port and uses a special cable that plugs into the 'to-host' jack on my keyboard.
Anyways, now that I have...
It would help to have a bit more info. Do mp3's open with other programs correctly? Do they open in edit view? Can you save something as an mp3 and then reopen it?
Damn! Projector lamps gotta reach nuclear temps! What's a tube amp gonna reach? 300-400 farrenheit? maybe 450? But still, those tubes ain't cheap, so I ain't gonna be leavin no finger oils on them anytime soon.
This only works in multitrack, so I've heard. I've never recorded more than 2 at once myself. But anyways, check the Options/Device order and Options/Device properties to make sure that each channel of your sound card is available. Then in mutlitrack, click the Rec 1 button and choose the...
It's odd that this happens at exactly 30 seconds. Wasn't the demo version limited to 30 seconds or something? Maybe the program got corrupted and reverted partially to demo mode.... Does it do this for every session now? If it does, you may want to try reinstalling CEP.
CEP has very limited MIDI playback capabilities. You are beter off mixing the MIDI portions of your mix in another program and exporting the result as a wave file to be imported to CEP.
Correct, hard limiting does chop off the peaks. Where as compression rounds the peaks off a bit. Correctly applied, this warm distortion of rounded peaks can add warmth to a mix. But with too much of this effect, it's just distortion. So don't overdo it. Hard limiting is the extreme case of...
Again, "Tuner Cleaner" spray from radio shack! Spray some in the socket and work the tube in and out a few times. Make sure the power is off and all the caps are discharged first!
Yea ds, finding the bad one is the hard part, especially if it hasn't failed completely and is only weak. Hard failures are easier to find. Once you find it, it shouldn't be more than $5. Labor costs can eisily be 10X that.
