Temporary pickup for Acoustic Guitar

I'm looking at sound hole pickups for my Martin D-28. Has anyone used one of these before? Is it a good way to plug in for playing live, or should I consider something else? Some examples I have found:

I have one of the wood ones and can't stand it. Very shitty sound because there is no control over the tone. If you are playing live I would just use a mic.

I'm a big fan of soundhole pickups. I currently have a Fishman Rare Earth and an EMG ACS installed. I find that they sound better and are more feedback resistant than your standard piezo system. The top of the line in soundhole pickups are made by Sunrise. If you have the $$$, that's the one to get.
