HomeRecording.Comp Volume II Recording Submission

*SUBMISSION PROCESS IS OVER. PLEASE DISREGARD THIS PAGE*

Alrighty then, here's how it works. You must follow these instructions to the letter or you won't get on the CD!!!

Minimum Requirements

You must be a member of the HomeRecording.Com BBS and have at least 60 posts in the past 6 months, or 250 posts total. There are no exceptions to this rule.

ONE SUBMISSION PER MEMBER!

You must have at least recorded the material you are submitting.

No cover songs.

Submission Deadline

Your submission must be postmarked on or before May 1, 2003. Everything required must be sent in one package (see below).

Submission Process

1. (REQUIRED) Download and complete the HomeRecording.Comp Volume II Submitter Contract.

The submitter contract is a contract between you (the submitter) and me (Boden Larson, aka Slackmaster 2000), giving me the right to duplicate and distribute your recording. Read the contract carefully.

The contract is an Adobe Acrobat fill-in form (e.g. you fill it in with Acrobat Reader). Fill in all required fields before printing and signing the contract.

2. (IF NECESSARY) Download and complete the HomeRecording.Comp Volume II Copyright Owner Permission Contract.

The copyright owner permission contract is required if you do not own exclusive copyright to the recording you're submitting. If you've recorded a song by another band, or somebody else helped write the song you're submitting, then you must get permission from each person who can claim copyright to the material. ONE CONTRACT PER COPYRIGHT OWNER! Note, you do not have to fill one of these out for yourself, since you already filled out the submitter contract (remember?).

The contract is an Adobe Acrobat fill-in form. Fill in all required fields before printing and signing the contract.

3. (REQUIRED) Create a 16bit 44.1khz wave file of your recording and burn it to a CDR as data. (do not send an audio CD)

4. (REQUIRED) Get a USD Money Order for $20 + shipping.

Yes, it sure seems unfair that people submitting still have to get money orders while people who order can use a credit card. Well, tough titties. I need everything to come to me in one package, so get a money order while you're at the post office. They're like a buck.

Shipping is fixed at $2 in the US and $5 everywhere else. This money is required up-front and is for your copy of the Comp CD when it is finished. You do not need to order a comp cd if you are submitting unless you need extra copies. If you don't include this payment, you won't be on the CD.

5. (REQUIRED) Get yourself an envelope large enough for the contract(s) and the CD.

6. (REQUIRED) Download and complete the Submitter Information Form and Checklist.

Fill out the submitter form completely on your computer and then print it. Then complete the checklist while getting your whole submission package together.

The top portion of this form should be filled in with Acrobat Reader.

Cut the address label off of the form and attach it to the submission package with tape.

7. (REQUIRED) Mail your completed submission package by May 1, 2003.

Note: I'm going to call the submission process over on June 1, 2003. So please send your materials via a method fast enough that it won't take longer than a month to get here. Thanks!
