Zoom r24

I am thinking of buying this zoom r24 and wanted to ask could i use a decent mic pre on it? will the pre on the zoom interfere with the pre i would buy and if it is not practical what kind of interface do you suggest?

I have a R16- same unit, basically. The pre's on it worked just fine for a couple of live concerts I recorded. Overall, it's a fine piece of gear, I would recommend it.

There's no reason why you couldn't run a better preamp into the zoom....just turn the input gain of the zoom off, and run your preamp out to the zoom input.

It should work fine.

and if i use the zoom as a studio interface? can anyone say something about r16 or r24 lantecy when its used as a interface?
