Zoom HD16 - 'Insert Effect' headaches...

Quite a simple task I am trying to achieve, but unfortunately I am struggling bigtime.

  • I have recorded 6 drum tracks using 8 track recorder mode
  • I have recorded 1 bass guitar, 1 guitar and 1 vocal afterwards.

What I am trying to do is to apply 'Insert Effect' options to each track individually. Whatever I seem to do the setting applies 'globally' to all tracks.. I just want the Insert Effect on a per track basis. The manual indicates this to be possible and seems very simple.. but I am having no luck!

Can anyone help?! I have registered an account on the Zoom forum but am awaiting my account to be activated.

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ill be honest and say that I have already read these 2 pages over and over and seem to still be struggling. :( I do understand everything I have read on pages 127-128.

Does it matter than I am not using 8 COMP EQ?

Can I ask a newbie question...

Is this applicable POST recording? I have already recorded all of the tracks..

1-6 were recording in 8 track recording mode for my drums.

7 and 8 were added afterwards for bass and guitar.

9/10 for vocals.

Also I have just noticed this in the manual:

Individual selection of Input 1 – Input 8 is possible only when the
8-track recording function is enabled and an algorithm other
than 8x COMP EQ is selected.

This makes sense, I can actually select each Input on their own. But when I apply an Insert Effect, then EXIT out.. change the Input Source to another track, the Insert Effect is then also applied to this track... :(

Am I missing something obvious?!
