anybody using those for HIP HOP studio?? i am thinking on purchasing them..
lotz of people recomend it saying they are the best PAIR of speakers for under $700 ...anybody has anything to say about those??

I own the YSM1s. Not the newer powered ones. I've had them for 7 or 8 years I think. They are great speakers. They have a nice bottom and are surprisingly good for the $200 I paid for them. I think they are a great deal. They aren't the most accurate speakers. But once you've worked with them for a while, they'll create mixes that are transferable to any setup.

A monitor that may or may not be better for the price is the Behringer Truths. A pair of powered monitors are about $400. And they are said to be cheap alternative to the Mackies. And are supposedly decent for hiphop production because they have a big bottom end. The only thing is that some folks don't trust the Behringer company. I've also heard from people who also love their products.

Either way, I think you'll come out on top with a useful prodfuct that will get your stuff to work in your spot.

Peace.
