Does anyone know how the Carvin M22 Humbuckers sound when compared to other pickups???

I have a Hamer Standard with the 'Duncan Designed' PAF Pickups and it sounds absolutely amazing CLEAN.

The overdriven tone is sharp, balanced, but lacks some of the bottom end 'crunch' I am looking for. It sounds a little thin on the rythym parts.

I know this is a huge generalization, but I just had to ask. Also, I like the idea of 22 adjustable pole pieces with the Carvin unit.

Any advice would be appreciated...Robert

With the right amp/FX settings, you can definitely get serious crunch. The bottom end is certainly deep and well defined.

Actually, it's a C22B. Now I see your post was M series specific.

I am actually not fully satisfied with the M22s in my DC127 KOA. The tone is a bit dead, and very weak. Need a good preamp or overdrive pedal to appreciate...
