Here's your chance to voice your opinion: for $300, I could get a pair of Yorkville YSM-1's and a used ra-100, or I could venture out into the relative unknown with the new studiophiles, or maybe you can recommend a better option??? Thanks.
 
I'd like to add my own query to Synergy's. I'm in the same situation - I'd like to replace my old Yamaha monitors, which are a bit bright & bass deficent for my ears, but my spending has to be kept in check. My day job at a telecom outfit could be in jepordy, and I have refrain from buying what I want and settle for what I can afford.

I had been compiling a list of monitors < $450 that were mentioned on this board, but I cant find it. The Yorkvilles and the (unpowered) Event 20/20s come to mind, if I have time I'll do some searches and list other alternatives, but meanwhile any recomendations based on actual use would be most appreciated!
