Yamaha PSR-500 keyboard to MBox 2 to ProTools 8 - Advice needed

I'm a complete newbie to the MIDI world. I'm trying to use my Yamaha PSR-550 MIDI connection to hook up to my MBox2 using ProTools 8 and subsequently the Kontakt5 plugin.

I have the MIDI cord hooked up but it's not being picked up in ProTools. Can anyone give me some guidance to get it all to work?

Have you put the In>Out and Out>In with the cable? And enabled Midi Out on the keyboard, if the option is there?
