Yamaha MG series - talk to me about the inserts

I'm looking at the 16/4 but in the manual it says this about the inserts:

The signal output from the INSERT I/O jacks is
reverse-phased. This will not be a problem if connecting
the jack to an effector. If using the jack to output
to an external device, however, please be aware
of possible phase conflicts with other signals.

What I was considering doing was taking the main and buss outs to the channels 1-4 of my Delta 1010lt, and then the channel inserts 6-10 of the MG out to channels 5-8 of the Delta.

Anyone else doing this or something similar? What are the results?
