XLR patch bay

I'm interested in an XLR patch bay only for easier access for mic plug in. Hosa makes a 12 channel model PDR-369. Is anyone familiar with this unit? Any reason why I shouldn't consider purchasing this?
Thanks,
Chad

Just make a mic panel and wire it to the patchbay.
A board, some flush mound connectors and wire and solder...

Good idea.

Yes. Assuming that the patchbay is balanced that is. Otherwise you might want to make the mic-input panel go not o the patchbay but directly to the mic-inputs of da gear.

You could always just use a stage snake (box to fan type).

Or there's a company called REDCO that will custom build you cables, snakes, and bays in any configuration at a very reasonable price.
