xlr or 1/4 from monitors to audio interface

hello i'm an XXXXXXXtreme newbie but please help

i would like to know the best way or only way to connect my monitors to my audio interface! On the back of my monitors it gives me the choice of either xlr or 1/4 jack connection which way should i go
xlr to xlr
1/4 to 1/4
xlr(monitor) to 1/4(interface)
1/4(monitor) to xlr(interface)

please help!!

It looks like you need a TRS > XLR male cable. You can go to sweetwaters website and do the cable finder and build the cable yourself. I would wait until another person answers just to be sure, but that's what it looks like to me.

I didn't see any XLR outputs on the interface. I'll look again, but I dont think I did. I meant the other way around, but like I said, I'll look again.

Yeh, it'd be like this:

M-Audio Ultra 8r outputs 1 & 2 (for stereo)/TRS > XLR/Monitors.

You can also go TRS>TRS, makes no difference except TRS cables are less expensive

Oh yeh, didn't even see the TRS input on the monitor. Good catch wash.
