I phoned my neighbour (2 houses away) the other day to borrow some carpenting tools, asking him;" Hey I´m putting together a songwriter/sound studio here and wondered if I could borrow some equipment for making a 80mm hole or two here?"
He quickly replied "you too?"
I said "pardon? anyone else building a studio?"
He: "Yeah I am. Haven´t you seen the 2 floor tall building in my garden?"
Me: "How could I have missed that? It´s 15 meters long"
He: "14"
Yup that was the surprise of the day. He don´t have sound recording experience but are building a studio. With all facilities, restroom, drummer rec. room, consoles, you name it.
Luckily he wasn´t nearly done yet so I got him from having the drummers room on a different floor than the recording room
We had some fun with that.
I´m assisting him some and he also plans to hire technicans in the beginning.
Now thats balls.
