Wow - Earthworks Monitors

Finally a time and phase accurate speaker from a pro audio manufacturer. Take a look at the Earthworks Sigma 6.2

http://www.earthworksaudio.com/ns/monitors.html

Check out the near textbook perfect step and impulse responses, and the high quality components (Solen inductors and capacitors). Could this be a candidate for the most accurate nearfield monitor? Anyone heard one?

Some reviews here. The last one is quite interesting as it is from an audiophile reviewers perspective. At least till it got to mentioning prices :(

I have not heard them, but given Earthworks reputation, and the quality of their mics, I would not be surprised if they were one of the most precise, acurate monitors out there.

Sigma, Alpha & Omega:

I checked the prices:

About 2800 pezzutos for "particleboard" matched pair.

Cherrywood, very pretty -- 5000 pezzutos.

I'm sure they must sound pretty good. Cool looking design.

Green Hornet :D  :D

I think they look like children's furniture from ikea, but im thinking of getting them just because of this great feature

I would like to apologize for my extreme sarcasm, I just can't stop tonight. ;) , by the way, i've always seen this smiley as an extremely sarcastic wink

I heard them today in a store. Their soundstage is uncanny. I had to put my ear up against several pairs of speakers before pinpointing where the sound was coming from. Didn't listen for long, so can't vouch for the overall tonality, but depth of field and soundstaging sounded A1!

They have been out for a while now. I have had the chance to hear them a couple of times. Very impressive. Very non-fatiguing, very accurate. You can hear very deeply into the mix. I really like them. I just can't afford them.
