Word Clock Distribution (splitting)?

I need to send word clock to more devices than my generator has outputs - not only the audio interfaces but a couple of samplers and modules that have WC ins, etc. What can you use to split a master WC signal to go to more units? Thanks!

There's a couple ways to do this, and I do both in my studio.

1. WC distribution box. I use a Lucid CLKx6 and it has always worked great for me.

2. Chain your WC devices. There's a lot of mis-info on chaining WC, but it works great. I have two chains of six devices each and no problems.

The important thing with chaining is the only the end device in the chain can be terminated. Some WC devices have an automatic termination set internally. In those cases, they would either have to be at the end of the WC chain, or you'd have to open the box up and mod the unit.

So, it may be more practical to get a distribution box like the CLKx6. Aardvark also made a distribution box that was fairly widely used.
