Well, I'm taking the 388 back to the "Service Center" 'bout Tuesday. Kid I talked to on the phone says "sure you can wait - if the heads just out of line, won't take us long to align it! You could go for coffee, and we'd have it done when you get back! (seems they won't allow me in back for "insurance reasons")... 
Yea - they had it for almost 2 months last time, and couldn't get it done. Might there be some inherent problem with the head?
If we dig into this thing, and it needs a head, or some sort of circuit board or something, does anybody here have a 388 their boning out?
Last week a poor soul posted about UPS creaming his 388. Now I can't find the post.
Otherwise, I may have a 388 to part out (after a total cost so far of around $850 invested, including purchase price...
