Am looking at a studio mic for close address vocals singing, and especially
narrations for video. Have a Rolls mic pre (well, a small mixer with phantom - it's clean). Wondering about AT3035, rode NT1A, or even a
hundred more for AT4040 or C3000B. Any suggestions?
Appreciate any help
If your main concern is price then check out an AT 2020. They street for less than $100 and from early reviews are quite good for narrations. If price is not an issue check into a Shure SM7 or EV RE20. Here's a short video on the AT 2020 by Ty Ford. Good luck.
For narration - 95% of the time, I find the RE-20 is the one..........
However for vocals/singing, usually some flavour of condenser is better (but not always).
Different applications, different mics... there's no "one size fits all".......
