So I've got about 500 dollars and I'm torn between buying a 5150 Head and a MOTU 8Pre...

What does everyone think?

well i should most likely go with the motu 8pre cause i need a new interface... but i'm also a bit iffy on passing up a good condition peavey 5150 original with brand new tubes all through for 500 even..

But i don't really NEED the 5150

Believe me, you will cross this road MANY times, having to make a choice on gear with limmited funds. Get what you need first than what you want later, and if at all posible, try not to take short cuts buying gear. Buying something that is just a quick fix will give you buyer's remorse.
