Which Harddrives for recording?

700 megs in 20 seconds? yea right. It takes 4 min for windows to copy a 1.1 gig file from my quantum fireball 40gig 7200 rpm drive to my old maxtor 8.5 gig 5400 rpm.

Cooledit has options for two temp dirs. I have one on C8.5 gig) and one on D40 gig).

What I plan on doing is have the main temp dir on the raid and the target dir on the raid.

The secondary will just be used for a little extra speed.

Maybe that's because your old 5400rpm is slow, no? Doesn't Cool Edit have an option for just one temp dir?
