what's going on in this drum clip?

Hey Everyone,

I just got a pair of Rode NT5s and am trying to recording my Pearl Export set. But something weird is going on in this clip. It may just be me, but I swear there's all sorts of weird panning going on. Like right off the top it sounds as though everything pans to the right. I recorded this in an XY setup and then panned each mic hard right and left on my mixer. In Sonar I recorded two tracks - one right, and one left, and I panned these also.

it does... also you need to tune your kit if you want nice results.

my first thoughts we're the positioning of your xy mics... naturally hi hat and snare will be more in the right. But then the after a second listen you can hear at 0:03 sec the panning changes.

I can hear something switching to the right... dont know what it is. or what to advise... sorry.

It all sounds centered and then moves to one channel. That means a mic is cutting out and coming back in. Check your cables. You could have a bad one.
