What would be comparable to Nuendo 2.0?

I am in the process of partnering up with another small project studio.

I have been using Nuendo 2.0 but he is used to a few other pieces of software. He wants to go to Pro Tools because he would use his friend's system.
I don't know squat about Pro Tools but which one is comparable to Nuendo 2.0? Also, do you need to buy a digi 001 or 002 for it to work or can I use my current ADAT card and converters?

I know the Pro Tool plug ins are pretty sweet but I don't really feel like selling my RME converters and hammerfall.

Don't get me wrong, I don't love Nuendo 2.0 either because I have some really annoying problems with it once in a while with the Waves Plug ins.

What do you guys think about Pro Tools LE vs. Nuendo 2.0?

I'm not an expert by any means, but Pro Tools LE is a HUGE step down from Nuendo from what I can tell (I think it is even a step down from my Cubase SL for the stuff that I do).

Your best bet would be to transfer tracks as braodcast wave files, and keep using what you already have.

This is just my $0.02.
